FAQ

RoRo Shipping Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about vehicle eligibility, documents, pickup, personal belongings, transit time, customs and international shipping from the USA.

Booking and vehicle eligibility

What does RoRo shipping mean?

RoRo means roll-on/roll-off. Operable wheeled cargo is driven onto a specialized vessel at departure and driven off after arrival.

Does my vehicle need to run?

Standard RoRo service generally requires working steering, brakes and sufficient operating condition for terminal handling. Non-running vehicles need advance review and may require container service.

What vehicles can ship by RoRo?

Cars, SUVs, vans, pickup trucks, commercial vehicles, motorcycles and many types of self-propelled equipment may qualify. Acceptance depends on the route, dimensions, condition and carrier.

Can you collect from an auction or dealership?

Yes. Pickup can be coordinated after the vehicle is released and the keys, condition and collection rules are confirmed.

Documents and preparation

What documents are normally required?

Common requirements include an acceptable vehicle title, bill of sale when applicable, shipper identification, export authorization and consignee details. Requirements vary by shipment.

Can I ship personal belongings inside the vehicle?

Most RoRo carriers do not permit personal goods inside a vehicle. Remove belongings unless the written booking instructions explicitly allow them.

How should I prepare the vehicle?

Remove prohibited items, check for leaks, provide keys, disable alarms and follow the carrier’s fuel-level and cleanliness requirements.

Can a vehicle with a lien or missing title be exported?

Additional authorization may be required, and some title situations cannot be accepted. Send the documents for review before arranging terminal delivery.

Cost, timing and destination

How is the shipping price calculated?

Pricing depends on the vehicle type and dimensions, pickup location, U.S. departure port, destination, carrier, sailing and requested handling services.

How long does international vehicle shipping take?

Transit depends on the route, vessel schedule, transshipment and customs processing. Any time estimate is approximate and should not be treated as a guaranteed arrival date.

Are customs duties and taxes included?

Destination duties, taxes, inspections and registration are normally paid by the consignee unless the written quote specifically states otherwise.

Do you clear the vehicle through destination customs?

Destination clearance is usually handled by the consignee or a local customs broker. We coordinate the U.S. export and ocean-shipping scope shown in the quote.

How do I track a shipment?

Available tracking and shipment references are provided according to the carrier and booking. Contact our team with your order or booking reference for assistance.
